Part Nine

Health is wealth. Wealth is nothing without health. It has been a few months since we arrived in the UK and the change in climate has affected my health terribly. My daughter is struggling with migraines. She has not eaten anything today, she tells me she does not feel hungry. She just wants to sleep in a dark room until her head pain disappears. I hope she feels better soon.

I have had a runny nose for a couple of days and the sneezing seems to cling to me with every attack. How horrible it is to feel unwell. I am trying to look after my daughter and myself at the same time; it is not easy but it must be done. Who else can I turn to?

I thought to myself, back in Bangladesh, when either one of us was unwell, there were someone in the household who would make us kichudi and ginger tea to help us recover sooner than later. I was able to sit back a little as I knew other family members would step in to help and support. I knew that I had people with me. I knew I was not alone.

My husband is too busy with work but I if we remain unwell for much longer, then I will have to ask him to take us to the doctor.
